This December, Main Street will be bustling with activity as we prepare for a spectacular House Tour as part of our town’s 350th anniversary celebrations. Six beautifully restored historic homes and two museum houses spanning three centuries of Suffield’s history will be showcased.
Teams of Garden Club members are refining their ideas for decorating the private homes with fresh flowers and greens, while the 350th committee and the Suffield Historical Society are taking the lead at the museum houses with a display of tree mannequins at the Phelps-Hatheway House and a special arrangement of vintage hats, pocketbooks and accessories at the King House.
Expect to see the unexpected with plenty of elegance and whimsy. Start your tour at the museum houses, open from 11:00 to 5:00 and continue on to the private homes between 3:00 and 7:00 pm. Ample parking and shuttle service will be available.
Tickets go on sale November 1. They are $30 in advance/$35 on the day of the tour, and may be purchased at Suffield Hardware, or with the link above. On the day of the tour, tickets will only be available at the Hatheway House Visitor Center, 55 South Main Street.
